Motivation

When thinking of what keeps me motivated, the only thing that ever comes to mind is my dad. The reason my dad is what keeps me motivated, is that he has never given up on me. I'm not sure he realizes all that he is to me. He isn't just my dad; he is my hero, my motivation, and my best friend. He has been there for everything important in my life, and he never fails to show me (or tell me) what hard work and determination can do. My dad isn't the type of dad that gives me anything I want, just so I will be happy. He is actually the opposite; He makes me work for everything I have. I am extremely grateful for that. Now, I will admit at times it really bothers me when I see how my friends just get handed everything, while I'm busy working away to get the things I want. However by making me work for the things I have, my dad has given me a greater appreciation for hard work and my possessions. Don't get me wrong whenever I need a helping hand he is always there and willing to help. He is also there for everything that is important to me. He has never failed to miss any softball games, soccer games, band concerts, or even school plays. He is always there on the sideline or in the stands cheering me on. When I was little my dad was the only person I looked for in a crowd, and he was the only person I ever noticed. He has never failed to give me that famous "thumbs up", which become 'our thing' since I was 4, every time I looked for that sign that I was doing things right or good. The one thing I always try to do, in everything I do; is to make him proud. All it takes is for me to think about how proud the thing I am doing is going to make him, and that is all the motivation I need.
